Okauchee Lake has hundreds of private residential docks along its shoreline. The majority are seasonal piers installed in spring and removed before winter.
Water depth, lake bottom conditions, and exposure to wind and ice determine the type of dock that works best for each property.
Rock Docks has been working on waterfront properties around Okauchee Lake for many years, building custom docks for homes along the shoreline in the Town of Merton, the Village of Lac La Belle (formerly the Town of Oconomowoc), and throughout the surrounding Lake Country communities.
The earlier, the better, especially if you’re hoping to have your new dock ready for summer. Fall, winter, and early spring are great times to start planning so there’s time to talk through layout, materials, and scheduling before the busiest part of the season.
It depends on your location, ice movement, wind exposure, and lake conditions. In some areas, leaving a dock in year-round may be more realistic than in others, but there is always some level of risk from shifting ice, changing water levels, and seasonal conditions. We’ll assess your shoreline during your consultation and help you determine the best approach for your property.
In many cases, yes. We work with a wide range of shoreline and lakebed conditions on Okauchee Lake, including mucky and rocky areas. Every waterfront is different, so we’ll evaluate your lakebed, shoreline, and water depth during the consultation and recommend the best dock design for your property.
It depends on the time of year, your design, and location on the lake, but most docks take anywhere from a couple weeks to a couple months from start to finish. Spring is our busiest season, so we always recommend reaching out early to get ahead of the rush and ensure your dock is ready for summer.
Pricing depends on dock type, size, materials, and design complexity. After your consultation, we’ll walk you through every option and provide a clear quote with all costs outlined up front so you know exactly what you’re getting.
